In this WP will investigate crucial issues related to the application of protective treatments to preserve painted surfaces from aggressive environmental and anthropic factors. The coating materials will be selected according three fundamental aspects: compatibility with the substrate, efficacy, and durability. All the treatments will be tested also to evaluate their reversibility and/or re-treatability. On-site testing of the best performing coatings on small areas in real conditions will be carried out in parallel with the laboratory experiments.
